Cátia Sofia Pereira Braga Pontes

Professor Cátia Pontes is the Principal Investigator and leader of the Veggies4myHeart project, created in 2018.

With her leadership, the project developed innovative educational materials to promote knowledge and consumption of vegetables in preschool children.

Furthermore, Professor Cátia Pontes led and played a crucial role in publishing several scientific papers that contribute significantly to ​​child nutrition.

 

Over the years, she actively participated in several scientific events, where she had the opportunity to share the results achieved by Veggies4myHeart. Her research has focused on the impact of Veggies4myHeart and its educational materials on promoting knowledge and consumption of vegetables in preschool children, particularly in the municipality of Leiria.

Through her innovative and passionate approach, Professor Cátia Pontes has left her mark on ​​nutrition and child food education.

Maria Pedro Guarino

Maria Pedro Guarino has a PhD in Physiology from NOVA Medical School. She is an Adjunct Professor at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico de Leiria and current Coordinator of the ciTechCare-Center for Innovative Care and Health Technology. Her research areas and interests are related to disease biomarkers, medical devices, and metabolic diseases.

Sara Simões Dias

Sara Simões Dias is a Professor at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico de Leiria, where she teaches Biostatistics and Informatics Applied to Health. She is also a professor at Nova Medical School, where she teaches Public Health, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics. Her current areas of research interest include Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and others.

Marlene Lages

Marlene Lages has a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Escola Superior de Tecnologia da Saúde de Coimbra. She is currently a PhD Fellow at ciTechCare, Polytechnic of Leiria, and a PhD student at the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences and Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. Her research areas focus mainly on clinical nutrition, metabolism, and diabetes and, more recently, on chrononutrition.

Rita Nunes Novo

Rita Novo has a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Escola Superior de Saúde de Leiria. She is currently a Master's Fellow at ciTechCare, Polytechnic of Leiria, and a Master's student in Pediatric Nutrition at the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences at the University of Porto. Her research areas primarily focus on pediatric eating disorders, ARFID, and pediatric community nutrition.

Eduarda Abrantes

Eduarda Abrantes loves vegetables and anything that makes each meal a very varied color palette. She has worked in New Media Design, Photography, and Editorial Illustration. Eduarda has a PhD in Visual and Intermediate Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. She currently teaches in the areas of Design and Visual Arts in the Degree in “Games and Multimedia” at the Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão do Politécnico de Leiria – a course she previously directed. She is a researcher at CIIC and is interested in the areas of Serious Games for Children, UI/UX Design, Interactive Narratives, and Immersive Technologies (VR, AR, XR).

Sophie Bucher Della Torre

Sophie Bucher Della Torre is a nutritionist and public health specialist. She works at the Geneva School of Health Sciences of the HES-SO University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland. She teaches public health nutrition, and her research interests focus on preventing obesity, promoting healthy eating in families and workers, especially shift workers, and positive body image.
