The Veggies4MyHeart project was present at the XXIV Nutrition and Food Congress, organized by the Portuguese Nutrition Association, which took place on May 8–9, 2025, in Braga, Portugal. During the event, the poster entitled “Influence of Sociodemographic and Anthropometric Factors on Knowledge, Willingness to Try, and Consumption of Vegetables in Preschool Children: Results from the Veggies4MyHeart Project” was presented, highlighting the role of children’s sociodemographic factors—namely sex, age, and nutritional status—in their knowledge, willingness to try, and consumption of vegetables.

ciTechCare participated in the RUN-EU Student Research Colloquium 2025, held on February 18–19 at the Technological University of the Shannon in Limerick, Ireland. At this event, research fellow Rita Novo delivered an oral presentation entitled “The Veggies4MyHeart Project: A longitudinal study to promote preschoolers’ vegetable knowledge and consumption”, highlighting the results achieved since the beginning of the project.
SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS AND CHILDREN’S EATING BEHAVIOR: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY

The Veggies4MyHeart project participated in the 3rd edition of the Pediatrics Congress of Hospital da Luz, held on February 6–7, 2025, in Lisbon, Portugal. During the event, the poster entitled “Sociodemographic Factors and Children’s Eating Behavior: A Cross-Sectional Study” was presented, highlighting the role of parental sociodemographic factors—namely sex, educational level, and marital status—in shaping their children’s eating behavior. This participation was distinguished with the award for Best Scientific Poster.
The Veggies4MyHeart project was present at the 17th edition of the European Public Health Conference (EPHC), held from 12 to 15 November 2024 in Lisbon, Portugal. Two posters were presented by Professor Sara Simões Dias during the event:

“Veggies4MyHeart – An Educational Project to Promote Vegetable Knowledge and Consumption Among Preschool Children”
The posters highlighted results from the project’s interventions, which focused on increasing vegetable knowledge and consumption among preschool-aged children. Pedagogical strategies such as storybooks, digital games, and educational sessions were implemented in several preschools across the Leiria district.
The project’s presence at EPHC underscored the importance of nutrition education as a critical tool for promoting healthy eating habits and improving child public health, emphasising the vital role of parents and educators as models.

The Veggies4myHeart team was again present at the annual Congress of the Portuguese Nutrition Association last Thursday, May 16, 2024. The XXIII Nutrition and Food Congress occurred at the Lisbon Congress Center with the theme “Nutrition: A Science for Inclusion.”
At this event, the Veggies4myHeart project had the opportunity to present the Poster entitled “Assessment of the Effectiveness of Pedagogical Tools on Vegetable Consumption Among Preschool Children: Results of the Veggies4Myheart Project”.

The Veggies4myHeart Project participated in the XXIII edition of the Nutrition and Food Congress, which took place on the 16th and 17th of May 2024 at the Lisbon Congress Center.
The project team was present, having presented the poster entitled “Assessment of the Effectiveness of Pedagogical Tools on Vegetable Consumption Among Preschool Children: Results of the Veggies4Myheart Project”.
The poster presented by Joana Edra, 4th year student of the Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition, addressed the results obtained through different educational materials in the 2023/24 edition.
